An elevator is an advanced electromechanical system with complex electronic controls. In the last four decades, we have adopted several new technological features and have evolved into a world class company in the vertical transportation sector. With advanced safety features and eco-friendly materials our products are designed to excel in a variety of challenging environments, setting new standards in the industry.
Our manufacturing facility is over 160,000 sq ft and we are a vertically integrated manufacturer. We have proudly stayed true to our ‘Make in India’ spirit since we started in 1984-85.
Our company strives to continuously innovate, adapt and incorporate the latest technology. Omega first introduced AC variable frequency drives in elevators back in 1992, significantly enhancing energy efficiency and performance standards. We pioneered seven-segment displays for floor position way back in 1987 setting a new standard for user interface in elevator systems. In the last decade we have developed several connectivity and software controlled systems for remote monitoring.

Product Innovation
Omega Elevators has pioneered the use of gearless machines and permanent magnet synchronous (PMSM) motors. This technology enhances the lift/elevator ride smoothness, improves the levelling accuracy, and eliminates jerks. Notably, our technology has achieved approximately 30-40% power savings over conventional systems.
The superior smoothness of Omega Elevators is proven: a vertically-standing 50-paisa coin remains steady on the motor, even during full-floor operations.
This is the thinnest available coin in Indian currency.
Door and Cabin Design Innovation
Our elevator designs have continuously evolved based on feedback from our customers. With modernization and customer requirements we have developed sleek and contemporary designs with clean lines, ergonomic interfaces and advanced illumination systems. Our advanced and customized design considerations include acoustic optimization, spatial design considerations and aesthetic integration with a building’s structural and architectural requirements.
Technology Innovation
There are several technical innovations in elevators that have revolutionized their operations and electrical efficiency. Innovations such as machine-room-less (MRL) systems, regenerative drives, and destination dispatch systems improve performance , efficiency and reduce wait times. Additionally, IoT and ‘Smart Elevator’ integration enables condition-based maintenance ensuring that the elevators remain operational and safe while minimizing downtime and repair cost. Our research and development team is currently working on incorporating AI based systems to personalize the elevator experience for customers. An example would be such that a child goes to school every day at 7:55 in the morning. Based on the learning algorithm developed, the elevator will be ready for the child and their caregiver. Currently we are working on such futuristic technology that is ultimately customer centric subsequently enhancing the experience for our users.
Fastest Elevator of India: Speed 5 m/s
Installed in 2018 at the prestigious Lodha Complex in Mumbai, Omega has developed India’s fastest elevator with a speed of 5 meters/sec. The technology is proprietary to our company. We have the technology to achieve even higher speed and have exceeded the prevailing industry standards. This landmark achievement in 2018, demonstrates our company’s commitment to innovation and advanced engineering in vertical transportation.
Green Energy Adoption
We have a 90 KW rooftop solar plant, installed in the late 2000s on our manufacturing facility. As early adopters of solar energy technology, we have been at the forefront of incorporating sustainable green energy solutions in our company.
Customer Safety Centric Innovation
Reliability and safety are of paramount importance to us. Our elevator and escalator designs ensure electrical and mechanical reliability of components and the ancillary equipment. During the 2020-21 COVID-19 pandemic we realized that we needed to keep our elevator cabins germ free. Our team designed a UV disinfecting system which disinfects the elevator cabin immediately after someone leaves the elevator.
In addition to avoiding contact, we have also designed touchless buttons for calling the elevators.
ERD : emergency rescue device
This is not the typical ARD (Automatic Rescue Device) that most elevators have . It is a specially designed feature and proprietary technology. By pressing this button, the lift will come to the nearest floor, and the doors will open, and the passengers can safely leave. ERD is useful in case the ARD doesn’t function or there is a battery failure.
Fire Elevators
Omega Elevators specializes in customized fire elevator design, ensuring the highest levels of safety during emergencies. Our systems utilize pressure differentials to create smoke-free evacuation zones, adhering to strict fire protocols and providing reliable vertical transportation. We have installed several such elevators in major metro cities in India.
Slot less bottom sills
Our innovative slotless bottom sill elevator designs significantly reduce the gap between the elevator cabin and door. It makes it safer for small children and elderly individuals and also helps prevent valuable items like phones and keys from falling in the elevator pit. Additionally, this slotless design keeps dust out of the lift shaft subsequently , protecting sensitive electronics and equipment.
Omega Connect
Introducing Omega Connect, our smart software system for advanced elevator monitoring and management. An elevator has several mechanical components and extremely complex electronic control systems control panels. Since 2014, Omega has developed several remote elevator and escalator monitoring systems. Our tested platform delivers real-time insights, predictive maintenance alerts, and can be easily integrated with the existing infrastructure. WiFi Connectivity and Access
Normally, when a person is in the elevator they will lose service. This can be very frustrating and sometimes if you are stuck in an elevator, there may be no way to call for help. Our team has developed the technology that enables Wi-Fi signal reception within the elevator cabin. This innovation by Omega aims to provide uninterrupted internet access and connectivity to the passengers. This uninterrupted connection helps the passengers make phone calls in case of emergencies.
Destination Control Systems
Modern elevator technology and elevator management system control system is an important feature that helps reduce and manage foot traffic in high-rise buildings . Omega’s innovative technology offers DCS – destination control systems to optimize the traffic flow when there is a bank of elevators in a building.This sophisticated access technology allows passengers to effortlessly navigate to their designated floors.
